Best Golf Courses in Sarasota Florida
As we continue to release these guides as quickly as possible, we continue to receive requests to write separate guides for specific Florida locations. After spending so much time in the Sunshine State, we thought I knew quite a bit about golf. Although he spent some time in Sarasota, he only played golf once. Fortunately, we have a lot to say about all the public golf available in this beautiful community. Based on your request and your opinion, I have compiled here a list of the best public Golf Courses in Sarasota Florida.
University Park Golf Club
One of the newer courses in the Sarasota area is the University Park Golf Club. The course was rated “#1 Golf Course in Southwest Florida” by Golf Digest. Designed by Ronkar, this 27-hole course is full of water, bunkers and trees to give you the best from tees to greens. Let’s aim for golf in the true sense. What members and the general public value most about University Park is its excellent condition. Year after year this place is gorgeous from wall to wall. It’s one of the most expensive rounds in the Sarasota area, but he doesn’t regret spending it on a game he loves.
Legacy Golf Club at Lakewood Ranch
The Legacy Golf Club was designed by the late Arnold Palmer. I now know that he is my absolute favorite place designer. We know we have this truck on my bucket list for that reason alone. Known as one of his best golf courses in southwestern Florida, the layout meanders through native bush with tall pines and native oaks and extensive wetlands teeming with wildlife. It also has island greens, par 3s, 100 white sand bunkers and undulating greens that will put even the best putters to the test. The course is only 20 miles offshore, so winds can be expected in the afternoon. A challenging, fun-to-play, and fulfilling experience, Legacy Golf Club is sure to meet all your expectations.
The Palms Golf Club at Forest Lakes
One thing everyone seems to love about The Palms is its location. Bird Key, Siesta Key, Lido Key and downtown Golf Course Sarasota are just a short drive away. Diversity, unique water features and beautiful landscaping characterize this property. This track only plays on Par 64, but it oozes personality. With a mix of short and long holes, doglegs in both directions and a challenging green complex, it’s definitely not a play for children. For players who like variety and are looking for a round they won’t soon forget, the Palms Club at Forest Lakes is the place for you.
